Westbourne Avenue, Harrogate

With a growing family the brief was to review the existing layout and come forward with ideas for improving the layout, enlarging the living space whilst engaging with the garden.  We developed a number of options which we 3d modelled to discuss flows and room uses.  The final design provided a glazed dining room facing onto the garden that linked to the enlarged kitchen and separate living room.

Blossom Lane, Theale, West Berkshire

Sited within a large plot, the original house is deceptive.  Only one room deep and with a central stair well cutting the house in two the house lacks a large living space and any link to the wonderful gardens beyond.

The scheme consists of a new single storey contemporary extension housing a new kitchen diner, utility room and W.C.

Camp House Farm, Nosterfield

Camp House Farm was converted to residential use in 2006 with the existing form of the barn conversion providing minimal views onto the garden.  architecture:ab were instructed to design a single storey extension to accommodate a new kitchen and provide an improved link to the garden.
Sited adjacent to the Ancient Monument of Thornborough Henges we liaised with English Heritage and designed a contemporary extension with a 4.5m wide bi-folding opening onto a new patio.
